The IBM Power Clean Room
Tuesday June 3, 2025 10:40 - 11:40 CEST
This session describes how to plan for and create an IBM Power clean room, covering IBM i and AIX partitions. Using benefits and features of IBM FlashSystem Safeguarded Copy, I'll show you how to create a clean room that provides a quick and safe recovery in the event of a Cyber Attack that hits your production system. The IBM Power Clean Room massively reduces RPO and RTO for any form of data corruption. I'll show how to plan, size and implement Safeguarded Copy. I'll describe how to present data from an immutable snapshot into a 'clean room' partition, how to validate it's a viable recovery point and how the process can be automated. I'll cover the relevant HMC and VIOS, FlashSystem functionality as well as an overview of FlashSystem cyber resilience features like FCM4 and Storage Insights.
